CIAA Tournament – 76 years

The CIAA kicks of its 76th basketball tournament in Baltimore this week. The CIAA Basketball Tournament has an interesting beginning and unique history. It was first held in 1946, eight years before the first ACC Tournament, and has been an economic engine powered by alumni and a family reunion type atmosphere from the beginning. Though the tournament has moved between Washington, DC, Maryland, Virginia, and North Carolina over the years, it has always been well-attended, and provides an enviable example of corporate sponsorship.

All games are being played at Royal Farms Arena in Baltimore, MD, and can be seen live on ESPN+.
